Not urban chaos, but its urban and its my home town Sacramento, California. One lawmaker is stepping up to help the homeless with legistlation she is pushing hard. I truly beleive her legistlation would help the homeless. I sincerely hope it becomes law. Kudos to Sacramento for trying to make a difference.
Under Chiu’s bill, to qualify for speedier approvals, developers would be required to set aside 35 percent of units in new affordable housing construction for homeless people, or 15 percent of total units – whichever is greater. The other bill would require California to create a state database to compile information on how many people are homeless and what type of services they use, in part to better identify possible solutions to underlying problems such as mental illness and substance abuse.
